How can the mind be different from the soul?
Being an issue of spirituality, even in days of modern science, not much research is done on the invisible existence of the mind and soul.
Due to this, there is still so much confusion and complication about differentiating the mind and soul; common people count these two as one single entity. Even well-educated people don’t know on what basis they should treat the mind and soul differently from each other.
Being invisible, treating both separately in their routine life is too critical a task for common people. They are not yet confirmed whether wishing, cursing, getting attracted, and getting upset are related to the mind or the soul.
Common people don’t know the exact function of the mind and the soul. Therefore, generally, they face too many complications in identifying the difference between the mind and the soul through their activities.
That’s why, mostly people prefer to assume both of them as one single entity instead of getting deep into the issue of understanding the difference between them.
As per SureGod, there is a great difference between the mind and the soul. Therefore, by seeing such confusion about their exact identification, SureGod is now going to explain the specific functions of the mind and the soul separately.
Specific Functions of the Mind in physical body of a Human
Mind is an invisible operating system of the living body, just like MS-Window of a computer, having a specific set of instructions for getting specific kinds of work done in a specific way from respective body parts.
The mind keeps on sensing surrounding changes by the sensory organs of the body and stores its information in the brain.
The mind is also like a data processing unit of a computer. The mind works like a processor which processes the information received by hearing, smelling, sensing, feeling, observing, studying, etc with the experience and knowledge that is previously stored in the brain, as well as with the information about any severe incidents of past life stored in the soul.
After processing, the mind ultimately makes decisions by thinking logically or emotionally about what to do, how to do, etc Such a thinking process keeps on going non-stop in the human mind.
While thinking logically, the mind makes decisions on the basis of profit and loss. But while thinking emotionally, it takes care of maintaining relationships.
It doesn’t care about profit and loss while making any decision emotionally. In the same way, it has nothing to do with maintaining relationships while making logical decisions.
Along with this, the mind gets specific work done by respective body parts. For example, after deciding, the mind gets one specific box lifted by the hand. But the mind doesn’t lift that box itself. After making a decision, the mind gets the ball kicked by foot. But a mind doesn’t kick the ball itself.
It stores only specific information in the brain as required by the way of study, observation, training, experiment, etc. Except for the mind, no bodily part can save information in the brain. In the same way, only the mind retrieves information stored in the brain by remembering it whenever needed.
The mind itself performs different kinds of specific activities which don’t require direct involvement of any body parts, just like thinking, planning, conspiring, calculating, making decisions, wishing for something, feeling, assuming, observing, liking, disliking, choosing, perceiving, etc.
In such ways, the mind works in both ways. On one hand, it performs many tasks on its own, i.e. planning, deciding, studying, calculating, etc. On the other hand, it gets work done from different body parts, like lifting specific boxes by hand, kicking the ball with the leg in a specific direction, etc.
The mind performs only one task at a time. It receives only one kind of information by using only one sensory organ at a time. When we see, our mind stops receiving information through our ears or through our nose. When we smell, our mind doesn’t receive information by touch or by observation.
Being invisible, no activity of the mind can be controlled so easily by humans. Therefore, controlling the mind can't be a simple task for human beings.
Controlling the mind means setting limits on the activities of the mind. The limit can easily be set for visible things. But how to set a limit to the invisible activities of the invisible mind?
Many tasks of the mind are involuntary, for example, breathing, eye-blinking, and thinking nonstop. Meditation is the only way to control such involuntary activities of the mind
Special Role of the Soul in the human body during living life
Soul is an eternal immaterial essence which can’t be destroyed or created. All those movable living beings who have an individual sense of I, me, my and myself, have the existence of an invisible soul in their visible body.
It is just like a specific identity given to living beings individually to keep them separate from one another for a lifetime, as well as even after the death of the living body.
The soul is nothing but a micro part of space elements allotted to living beings. It means the soul is a child of the space element. By being emptiness and the invisibility of the space element, the soul is also invisible and empty by nature. It works like a cloud-based empty bag in which information about major incidents during life is contained on its own.
During living life, the thoughts about award winning, unexpected happenings of life, appreciation by others, love break-up, special surprise, family dispute, loss in business, emotional breakdown with near & dear, heart-breaking insults, respect-disrespect in family functions, breach of trust by closed one, wishes and planning about future life, possession of person or property, etc. keep on developing in mind.
Such thoughts keep on occupying the space of the soul on their own, just like air occupies the space of a container on its own.
The soul starts to show its existence from childhood. Therefore, in case of rebirth, the incident, relationship or location of the previous birth is easily reminded to a little child. Severe accidents that occurred in childhood are also remembered even in old age.
This speciality of the soul affects the working system of minds. The mind make decision based on information retrieved from the brain as well as from the soul. Hence, any serious incident has the potential to make its effect on human behaviour for a lifetime.
Special Role of the Soul after the death of the living body of a human
Air contained in a container is considered a part of that container until it is not broken.
In the same way, the soul is an undivided part of the living body until death. Therefore, only after the death of the living body does it get separated from the body and can dissolve back into space elements.
But even after the death of the living body, such souls don’t dissolve in the space, if they contain thoughts of unfulfilled wishes, heartbreaking insult, possession of person or property, helplessness, sympathy, revenge, etc.
Therefore, to get dissolved back into space elements easily, such souls are required to be completely free from all kinds of thought before the death of the living body.
Because after the death of the living body, no soul can make itself free from its own thoughts without the help of the living physical body. Souls can be completely free from every kind of thought only before the death of the living body, but not after death.
Difference between Mind and Soul
Like the mind, the soul neither performs any kind of function itself nor gets any work done by any body part. Mind involuntary activities like breathing can be controlled by meditation, but the specific role of the soul during life as well as after death can’t be modified a little bit by human beings.
In such a way, SureGod has highlighted many major differences between mind and soul by comparing them based on the criteria of existence, function & specific role. On this basis, SureGod said it with surety that the mind and the soul are not a single entity. They are far different from each other.
